Why does Intrusions Shield use IP addresses on approve and block lists?
Intrusion’s block and allow lists are dynamic, and are more effective than a simple list of addresses. Intrusion has the world’s largest Block List (3.7+ billion) and Approve List (3.2+ billion) of signatures and rules based on DNS, TCP, UDP, and the relationships between DNS and direct IPV4 and IPV6 addresses.
Intrusion’s AI also checks for illegitimate domains such as homoglyphs (domains that look the same but use Unicode or other characters which are not the same), plus other out-of-bounds names and IP relationships that a simple list wouldn’t catch. Further, as it gathers more information and more rules, it gets bigger and smarter every second.
